Troubleshooting Xbox
Your XIM MATRIX is frequently being updated with new features and fixes. It is recommended that you upgrade if there is an update available before continuing troubleshooting.
Connection Problems
If your XIM MATRIX in unable to connect to your Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One, it could be a communication issue between your XIM MATRIX and your Xbox console or a communication issue with your Xbox controller.
Note
Please go through these troubleshooting steps in order and verify each before moving on.
1) Connection Order
Please make sure you are connecting your Xbox controller (which should be powered off) to your XIM MATRIX in Port 3 before you connect your XIM MATRIX to your Xbox.
2) Remove Wireless Pairings
Remove any wireless pairings your Xbox controller has which may be interrupting communication with XIM MATRIX.
- Disconnect your Xbox controller from your XIM MATRIX
- Turn your Xbox controller on and then press and hold the pairing button on your controller
- Continue to hold until it rumbles twice (you may need to hold the button for up to 10 seconds)
- Make sure your Xbox controller is off before trying it again with your XIM MATRIX again
3) Xbox Controller Update
Please make sure your Xbox controller is up-to-date by checking for updates for it in the Xbox dashboard.
Warning
Do not update your Xbox controller's firmware through your XIM MATRIX. Only upgrade your Xbox controller while it's directly connected to your Xbox.
4) Try Different Cable
Try a different cable that you are using to connect your Xbox controller to your XIM MATRIX. The cable could be faulty. Make sure the cable you are using isn't a power only cable.
5) Hard Reboot Console
Hard rebooting your Xbox console can correct Xbox USB issues:
- Start with your Xbox on
- Press and hold the power button on your Xbox
- Continue to hold until your Xbox shuts off (can take up to 10 seconds)
- Unplug your Xbox's power for 2 minutes
6) Remove Controller Batteries
Try removing your Xbox controller's batteries (if they are removable).
7) Try Different Controller
Verify the USB port on your Xbox controller isn't faulty by trying a different controller.
Suspend Problems
If your XIM MATRIX isn't turning off when you shut off your Xbox, or it is and it's turning back on, please make sure your Xbox power options are configured for Sleep (not Power Off).
3rd Party Controller Problems
XIM MATRIX supports officially licensed 3rd party wired Xbox controllers. You can use these controllers for authentication as well.
If you are using a licensed 3rd party Xbox controller on your Xbox, please ensure it's the only wired Xbox controller connected to your XIM MATRIX. It should be connected to port 3.
Note
Your XIM MATRIX doesn't support multiple wired Xbox controllers connected at the same time.
