Navigate Mode

XIM MATRIX enables you with significant flexibility in how you game and also how you map your input device buttons, keys, sticks and triggers.

Your inputs may be so heavily remapped for the game you are playing (including with Smart Action sequences), that it may be very difficult (or even impossible) to produce the buttons you need to do tasks outside of the game -- like navigating menus.

This is where Navigate Mode comes in.

Tip

You can think of Navigate Mode as a special type of Config designed just for non-game tasks.

Enabling Navigate Mode

By default, Navigate Mode is toggled using a button combo. By default, that combo is:

  • View + Menu for Xbox gamepads
  • Touchpad-Press + Options for DualSense and DualShock 4 gamepads
  • Or equivalent for other supported gamepads

  • [ + ] for keyboards

Manager will let you know when you are in Navigate Mode and XIM MATRIX's light will be displaying a white breathing sequence.

Configuring Navigate Mode

Navigate Mode is fully configurable by entering Global Settings and choosing Customize Navigate Mode.

Changing Navigate Mode Combos

You can customize the two activation combos to toggle Navigate Mode.

Tip

To enable a single button toggle, set both buttons the same.

To disable the combos, edit the buttons and choose Clear.

You can also choose to have Navigate Mode enabled when your XIM MATRIX starts up.

Auto Navigate Mode

You can configure Navigate Mode to automatically activate if a Gamepad in Port 3 is in use by using the Gamepad Auto Activate setting.

Navigate Mode will deactivate automatically when any other connected input device is used.

Tip

Auto Navigate Mode is a convenient feature if you have multiple Gamepads connected to your XIM MATRIX. You can use the Gamepad connected to Port 3 (typically your authentication controller that you don't want mapped) to navigate menus without needing to use the activation combo.

Controller Mappings

If your XIM MATRIX is currently presenting as a controller, you can choose the set of simple bindings to map your devices to controller. Connected gamepads are automatically passthrough mapped.

Mouse and Keyboard Mappings

If your XIM MATRIX is currently presenting as a mouse and keyboard, you can choose the set of simple bindings to map your devices to mouse and keyboard. Connected mice and keyboards are automatically passthrough mapped.

You also have the option to modify your mouse speed.

Loading Configs

You can also load next and previous Configs using specific buttons while in Navigate mode. Those buttons can be changed (or removed) as well.

In addition, you can choose to only allow Config loading via hotkey if Navigate Mode is enabled by using the Navigate Only Hotkey Mode setting.
